A Bahá'í's duty to pursue an unfettered
search after truth should lead him to understand the Teachings as an organic,
logically coherent whole, should cause him to examine his own ideas and
motives, and should enable him to see that adherence to the Covenant, to which
he is a party, is not blind imitation but conscious choice, freely made and
freely followed.
